Both offenses came out playing fast and scoring quickly, as it was 14-14 just over five minutes into the contest. The teams stayed neck and neck until an 11-2 Cougar run opened things up down the stretch in the first half. Chatham went into the half up 10 points after the Tomcat offense went cold. Thiel would make up that ground in the second half to erase the deficit and regain the lead with 11:50 to play. After multiple lead changes, it was the Cougars offense who pulled ahead with a 13-6 run, with eight points from Robinson.
The Cougars shot 38.1% (8-21) from downtown and held the Tomcats to just 23.5% (4-17) from deep. Chatham was 19-28 from the charity stripe and won the rebound battle 36-29.
Men's Basketball will try to extend its win streak Saturday at home against Westminster.
