PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Nov. 4, 2023) - After dropping their first matchup with the Monarchs (1-3-0, 1-1-0) on Friday, the Cougars beat the visitors 4-2. A change in goalie aided the defensive effort in the Cougars' win.
Chatham would score first on a goal by sophomore
True Crowe who was assisted by freshman
Nicholas Babbie and senior
Liam Murphy. The Monarchs would even the score midway through the period, but sophomore
Cristian Adragna found the back of the net off assists from Babbie and freshman
Camden Smith to put the Cougars up 2-1.
In the following period, the Monarchs would once again tie the game. However, two and a half minutes later, the Cougars would light the lamp for a third time on freshman
Michael Roby's first career goal from sophomore
Nick Cyprian and Smith. In the final period, junior
Matthew Doyle netted the fourth and final goal of the game from junior
Zack Conner and Cyprian.
Freshman
Louis Finnegan got his first collegiate start in the match, saving 33 shots on a .943 save percentage. The Cougars blocked 15 shots as a team with freshman
Milan Cermak leading the way with two.
Chatham will return to the ice on Friday, Nov. 10 against Utica.
