Men's Ice Hockey Closes Weekend Matchup Against King's College With Win

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Nov. 4, 2023) - After dropping their first matchup with the Monarchs (1-3-0, 1-1-0) on Friday, the Cougars beat the visitors 4-2. A change in goalie aided the defensive effort in the Cougars' win.

Chatham would score first on a goal by sophomore True Crowe who was assisted by freshman Nicholas Babbie and senior Liam Murphy. The Monarchs would even the score midway through the period, but sophomore Cristian Adragna found the back of the net off assists from Babbie and freshman Camden Smith to put the Cougars up 2-1.

In the following period, the Monarchs would once again tie the game. However, two and a half minutes later, the Cougars would light the lamp for a third time on freshman Michael Roby's first career goal from sophomore Nick Cyprian and Smith. In the final period, junior Matthew Doyle netted the fourth and final goal of the game from junior Zack Conner and Cyprian.

Freshman Louis Finnegan got his first collegiate start in the match, saving 33 shots on a .943 save percentage. The Cougars blocked 15 shots as a team with freshman Milan Cermak leading the way with two.

Chatham will return to the ice on Friday, Nov. 10 against Utica.
