PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Nov. 3, 2023) - The visiting King's College (1-2-0, 1-0-0) stole game one of two against the Cougars. After tying the game late in the second period, the Monarchs would score three unanswered in the final period.
A scoreless first that saw sophomore
Nick Cyprian head to the box at the end was soon forgotten. Not even a minute into the second, a solo shot from the Monarchs earned them the first lead of the night. Later in the second, freshman
Nicholas Babbie notched his first career goal off an assist from sophomore
Cristian Adragna. The teams would trade blows as the period continued, ending with a power-play goal from sophomore
Caden Smith with junior
Matthew Doyle and sophomore
Bekk McClaine guiding the score.
In the third, the Monarchs would score twice on two power-play goals and one shorthanded goal to close the night.
The Cougars will rematch the Monarchs Saturday at 3 p.m.
