LATROBE, Pa. - November 15, 2023 - Chatham Women's Basketball lost in the PAC opener 55-36 against the Saint Vincent Bearcats (2-2) at the Robert S. Carey Center on Wednesday evening. The Cougars are now 1-2 on the year and begin conference play 0-1.

Ashlie Louden led with 10 points in what was a tough shooting game for the Cougar offense. She added a career-high six steals, three rebounds and three assists. Classmate
Aurielle Brunner also had six steals and netted six points. Junior

Keegan McConahy led the team with seven rebounds and contributed three points.
The Bearcats took an early 11-3 lead, but the Cougars fought back with a 10-0 run thanks to two triples from Louden and four Saint Vincent turnovers. The Cougars only managed one field goal in the second quarter, but sloppy play on the offensive end from the Bearcats kept the game at 26-22 in favor of Saint Vincent heading into the break. Both offenses continued struggling to find a rhythm in the third quarter as the Cougars shot 16.7% (3-18) in the period and the Bearcats turned it over another nine times. Saint Vincent found its footing to take control and pull away in the final frame.
Chatham was out-rebounded 59-30, but won the offensive glass 14-13. The Cougars shot just 17.6% (12-68) from the floor, while the Bearcats ended at 40% (18-45). Chatham forced 30 Bearcat turnovers and committed just 12, but were unable to fully capitalize as they only scored 21 points off turnovers.
Women's Basketball will return to the AFC for their home opener Saturday at noon against W&J.
