RYE, N.Y. (Nov. 10, 2023) - In game one of their weekend matchup with Manhattanville (2-1-0, 2-1-0), the Cougars won by the score of 2-1. Chatham was able to capitalize on two of their three power plays to bring their overall record to 2-0-1, 1-0-0.
Fifth-year
Brooke Almond and senior
Ally Nolan set up the first goal of the game.
Allie Corser-James found the back of the net after the setup on a power play. Then, at the 14:49 mark of the period, the Valiants would tie the game.
The Cougars would end the game midway through the third on another power-play goal by Corser-James. Almond and Nolan once again set up their teammate to close the game at 2-1.
Senior
Lilly Rogers made 30 saves on 31 shots on goal. The defense for the Cougars prevented Manhattanville from finding the back of the net on all six of the Valiants' power plays.
The Purple and Gray will match up with the Valiants again on Saturday at 1 p.m.
