BETHANY, W.V. - October 4, 2023 - Chatham Women's Soccer took a 5-2 defeat against the Bethany Bison (2-6-3, 1-3) at Hoag Field on Wednesday. The loss makes the Cougars 1-7-3 on the year and 0-4-1 in PAC play.
The Bison took command early, putting up goals in the 12th and 20th minutes to take a 2-0 lead. The Cougars got one back in the 26th minute when a cross from junior
Lauren Hall was deflected into the net by a Bethany defender, however the Bison would score again within a minute to bring the lead back to two. Out of the halftime break, Bethany tallied two more to run away with the match, making sophomore
Ainsley Smith's goal in the 85th minute a moot point. Smith now has five goals on the season, which leads the squad.
Bethany put eight shots on goal, while Chatham registered three. Corner kicks were an even five to five.
Women's Soccer is back on the road Saturday for an afternoon match with the Thiel Tomcats.
