PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Oct. 14, 2023) - The Cougars swept the visiting Saint Vincent Bearcats (8-10, 2-3) to set a program record of eight straight wins. Chatham now has a record of 12-4, 4-0 to remain at the top of the PAC standings. The Purple and Gray used strong serving and defense to shut out their opponent.
Senior
Amelia Bogovich led the way for the Cougars with match-highs in kills (12), serving aces (4), and points (16). Six other players recorded one kill, with senior
Jessica Taney and freshman
Paige Watson tallying seven each. The Cougars had 11 serving aces for the match. Seniors
Jena Williams and
Jessie Spoerndle trailed only Bogovich with 2 aces a piece. Freshman
Ava Plunkard (14) and Spoerndle (12) combined for 26 of Chatham's 31 assists.
Saint Vincent was held to their second-lowest total point output of the year at 30. The Cougars recorded 5 blocks and 68 digs, led by Taney's four block assists and senior
Meghan Dominek's match-high 22 digs. Seniors
Delaney O'Shea and Williams each assisted on 2 blocks, and sophomore
Alyssa Leskovac and Plunkard combined for 24 digs.
Chatham will travel to New Wilmington, Pa. to take on the Titans of Westminster on Oct. 18.
