MEADVILLE, Pa. - October 14, 2023 - Chatham Men's Soccer stole a 3-2 win on the road against Allegheny (4-9, 3-4) at the Robertson Athletic Complex with a goal in the final minute. The win puts Chatham at 5-8-2 on the year and 4-3-1 in conference, which places them in the top four of the PAC.
The Gators took a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute, but the Cougars answered quickly with an equalizer in the 26th minute on a goal from freshman
Azavier Coppin with an assist to freshman
Colin Sullivan. Chatham took a 2-1 early in the second half when sophomore
Mateo Lopez tallied his second goal of the year with an assist from freshman
Luke Matzelle.
Allegheny was able to pull even at 2 in the 85th minute, and the match looked to be headed to a draw before Coppin buried a loose ball in the box with 19 seconds to go to capture the dramatic win. His two goals on the day bring his season total to 12, which sets a new Chatham single-season record. The mark of 11 was previously set by Ryan Tahbaz in 2021. Coppin's 12 goals are tied for first in the PAC and rank in the top five in the nation among freshman.

Men's Soccer is back at UPMC Graham Field next Saturday for Senior Day when they take on the Geneva Golden Tornadoes.
