PITTSBURGH, Pa. - October 11, 2023 - Chatham Women's Soccer fell at home to the visiting Franciscan Lady Barons (5-6-1, 3-3-1) by a score of 4-1. The Cougars are now 2-8-3 on the season and 1-5-1 in PAC play.
The Barons struck first in the 25th minute and took a 1-0 into halftime. Out of the break, they kept the pressure on high, scoring in the 49th minute to go up by two. Two more goals in the 80th and 86th minutes put the game well out of reach before sophomore
Halle Marsalis scored as a consolation in the 90th minute, marking her first goal of the year.
Shots on goal were led by Franciscan 13-4, while Chatham held the advantage in corner kicks 5-3.
Women's Soccer was joined on the field by guest coach Simmone Bell. Bell is the Associate Director of Student Engagement at Chatham and has been with the university since 2016.
Women's Soccer returns to the pitch Saturday on the road to take on Allegheny.
