NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - January 5, 2023 - Chatham Men's Basketball suffered a narrow 72-68 defeat on the road against Westminster Thursday evening. The Cougars fall to 6-7 on the year and 5-3 in PAC play.
Senior guard
Marcos Cintron paced the Cougars with 17 points on 7-15 shooting, going 3-6 from beyond the arc. Junior guard
Simon Boyer scored 15 points and pulled down five rebounds. Sophomore guard
Blaine Gartley scored 13 of his own and led the team with three steals. Sophomore guard
Isaiah Smith led the team with eight rebounds and netted eight points.
The Titans led by 18 points with 13:20 left in the second half, but the Cougars stormed back in a hurry, cutting the lead to just one with 7 minutes remaining. Unfortunately, they were unable to complete the comeback, as Westminster narrowly stayed ahead the whole way through.
Chatham won the turnover battle 16-9, but were out rebounded 47-34 overall and 36-24 defensively.
The Cougars will hit the floor again Saturday afternoon at home against Thiel.
