BETHANY, W.V. - January 28, 2023 - Chatham Women's Basketball came out of West Virginia with a 63-57 victory over the Bethany Bison on Saturday afternoon. The win puts the Cougars at 12-6 overall and 9-5 in PAC play.

First year forward Alyssa Laukus led the Cougars with 15 points on 7-13 shooting. Sophomore guard Zelimar Rodriguez scored eight points, pulled down eight boards and recorded a career-high six steals. Sophomore guard Emily Durkee netted nine points and secured six rebounds.

It was a slow start for both offenses as the first basket didn't fall until nearly three and a half minutes into the game. Chatham held a 15-14 lead at the end of the first and a 27-23 halftime lead. The Cougars' lead was cut to just one in the fourth quarter, but they never surrendered it throughout the second half. Laukus scored seven straight for Chatham midway through the fourth, including a crucial and-one conversion that expanded the lead back to four after the Bison had cut it to one.

Bethany out rebounded Chatham 48-33, but the Bison committed 21 turnovers to just 10 for the Cougars.

Women's Basketball finishes its streak of seven straight road games with a Wednesday night matchup in Latrobe against Saint Vincent.
