PITTSBURGH, Pa. - January 27, 2023 - Chatham Men's Hockey Fredonia State this afternoon in game one of a home-and-home split. The Cougars would strike just 13 seconds into the game, but ultimately the Blue Devils pulled ahead permanently for a 6-1 final.

After an early icing, first-year Bekk McClaine won the draw back to classmate Brendan Pomerantz, who then fed the puck to junior Chris Dusek. The one-timer found the top corner through a screen to open up the scoring.

Fredonia would go on to score six unanswered goals to silence the Cougars.

In goal, senior Ricardo Gonzalez made 21 saves. Defensemen Chris Dusek and Ben Lamm each had  a team-high two blocks.

Senior Matt Mood had a game-high 18 face-off wins.

The Cougars are back in action tomorrow for their third game of the week in Fredonia, New York for a rematch against the Blue Devils.
