PITTSBURGH, Pa. - January 25, 2023 - Chatham Men's Basketball fell at home against W&J by the score of 84-78 on Wednesday night. It was the first home loss of the season for the Cougars, who are now 10-8 on the year and 9-4 in conference.
Junior guard
Simon Boyer scored a career-high 28 points on 11-24 shooting with five three-pointers and five rebounds. Senior guard
Marcos Cintron dropped 16 points and tied the team lead with four assists. Senior guard
Nick Fiumara netted 12 points and pulled down six rebounds.
The Cougars were down by seven towards the end of a neck and neck first half, but were able to go into the half with a four-point lead after a 12-1 scoring run. Chatham's lead grew to as large as seven in the early part of the second half, but the Presidents rallied to tie things at 53. The lead went back and fourth and the game was knotted at 78 with 2:00 to play, but W&J ended on a 6-0 run down the stretch to seal the deal.
Chatham won the rebounding battle 40-33 but lost the turnover battle 17-13.
Men's Basketball is back in action Saturday afternoon on the road against Bethany.
