HERSHEY, Pa. - January 20, 2023 - Women's Hockey traveled to Lebanon Valley College this afternoon for a UCHC matchup at Hersheypark Arena. The Cougars would win 2-1 to improve their record to 7-5-1 in conference.

Sophomore Rainey Jessup would get the Cougars started early in the first on the power-play, capitalizing on a play set up by junior Cameron Carmody and senior Brooke Almond.

After a one-goal first period, the Cougars were back for more, this time on the Lebanon Valley power-play. A clear attempt by the Dutchmen was stopped in its tracks by Carmody, who would dump the puck low for Lauren Carmody to collect. After a net front shot, Lauren Carmody would pick up her own rebound to find the back of the net, putting the Cougars up 2-0.

Although the Dutchmen would score shortly after, all subsequent attempts were shut down. Junior net minder Lilly Rogers made 20 saves in the win, including eight in the third period.

Cameron Carmody led the team in blocks with two as well as face-off wins with 15.

The Cougars are back in action against the Dutchmen tomorrow at 4 PM as they look to complete the weekend sweep.
