BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - January 18, 2023 - Chatham Men's Basketball eked out a 69-66 road win over Geneva Wednesday night. The Cougars are now 10-7 with a 9-3 conference record after their fourth straight victory.
Senior guard
Marcos Cintron scored 23 points to lead the team in the winning effort. Cintron has netted 20 or more points in six of his last seven games. Sophomore guard
Isaiah Smith tallied 18 points with 4-6 shooting from deep. Sophomore guard
Blaine Gartley led the team in rebounds, with nine, and steals, with three, to go along with four points.
Chatham started the game on a 10-2 run, but that would be the largest lead of what became a very close contest throughout. The Golden Tornadoes quickly rallied and tied things up at 19, and the game was level at 29 heading into half. Geneva's largest lead was just two points and Chatham was able to cling to a lead that was no bigger than five for the final 6:53 of the game. The contest saw 15 lead changes and nine ties.
Chatham won the rebound battle 44-39 and won the turnover battle 11-7. The Cougars were able to stay under 10 turnovers for the seventh time this year.
Men's Basketball is back in action at home next Wednesday as they host W&J.
