ASTON, Pa. - January 10, 2023 - Chatham Men's Hockey traveled to Neumann University today to resume their competition from November 18th that was halted due to facility concerns.
On November 18th, Chatham maintained a 4-1 lead by the time play halted halfway through the second period. All four goals were scored within the first ten minutes of the game and were supplied by first-years Michael Hurst and Nick Cyprian, junior Carson Grainer, and senior Andrew Warhoftig.
Cyprian struck again five minutes after play resumed today, with assists being credited to classmate Caden Smith and senior Ben Lamm. First-year Oscar Saarinen followed up just one minute later, thanks to help from classmate Bekk McClaine and senior Kenneth Gill.
Neumann would find the back of the net just once before the period was out, but Chatham retaliated with their seventh and final goal, which was also a hat trick for Cyprian. He was again assisted by Smith as well as newcomer Samuel Miller.
Cyprian and Smith tied for game-high point totals with three apiece, coming from three goals and three assists, respectively.
In net, senior goaltender Ricardo Gonzalez made 21 total saves, facing 18 in the second and third periods.
With the victory finalized, the Cougars improve to 7-3 in conference play. They have the opportunity to go 9-3 in the UCHC with a road series at Alvernia this Friday and Saturday,
