Women's Soccer Draws at Grove City to Start PAC Play

GROVE CITY, Pa. - September 21, 2022 - Chatham Women's Soccer started Presidents' Athletic Conference play with its first draw of the 2022 campaign Wednesday night at Grove City. Following the 1-1 match, the Cougars now sit at 4-2-1 on the year.

Chatham held a 9-7 advantage in shots on goal, while Grove City led 4-3 in corner kicks.

The Wolverines scored in the first half and went into the break with a 1-0 lead, but freshman midfielder Halle Marsalis knotted the game up when she buried a penalty kick in the 57th minute. It was Marsalis's second goal of the season.

Freshman forward Ainsley Smith led the Cougars with three shots on goal and sophomore goalkeeper Hannah Ehrlich made six saves in net.

Women's Soccer will be back at Graham Field Saturday afternoon to take on Waynesburg. The squad's 2021 PAC Championship Ring Ceremony will be held prior to the match.
