PITTSBURGH, Pa. - September 17, 2022 - Chatham Women's Soccer suffered a tough 4-3 loss at home against Mount Union Saturday afternoon. The Cougars are now 4-2 after their first home loss of the season.
Things looked promising early on for Chatham when graduate forward
Morgan Anderson found the net just 21 seconds into the match. It was the eighth goal of the year for Anderson, who was named PAC Offensive Player of the Week for last week.
After a Mount Union goal tied the match back up, senior midfielder
Emily Harvey retook the lead for Chatham on her second goal of the season.
The Raiders scored twice more before freshman forward
Ainsley Smith scored in the 61st minute, but it was ultimately not enough for Chatham.
Despite the strong start and the offensive production, the Cougars could not contain Mount Union's Andrea Decker, who registered a hat trick and an assist in the match.
Mount Union won the shots on goal battle 12-10, while Chatham posted a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Chatham Women's Soccer is back in action Wednesday night on the road against Grove City.
