WOOSTER, Ohio - September 16, 2022 - Cougar Volleyball had an exciting evening at the College of Wooster in their doubleheader against Capital and Pitt Bradford. Both matches would take a full five sets, with the Cougars holding strong in both to take the final 3-2 lead.

vs. Pitt-Bradford: 25-27; 25-23; 25-27; 25-23; 16-14
In game one, the Cougars and Crusaders both scored their points in blocks throughout all five sets. Aside from the first set dominated by Chatham, both teams were neck and neck and had to fight for every point.
First-year Alyssa Leskovac had another heroic performance, lighting up the court for a team-high 28 kills and four service aces. Junior libero Meghan Dominek had a team-high 32 digs on defense, and senior Shaelah Pepperman set up a game-high 45 kills for the Cougars.
Although game two began with a set going to the Panthers, the Cougars were not willing to settle for a loss. They battled through four more two-point sets to repeat their game one result.
The match against the Panthers saw several more Cougars dominate. Senior Rylee Ritko added to her seven kills from game one with 20 more, even adding a team-top-three 23 digs. Leskovac again put up double digits with 18 kills, giving her 46 kills on the day. Sophomore Jessica Taney and first-year Abigail Willott both contributed ten kills and four block assists each.
Leading the team in blocks was junior Baileigh Horan with six. Pepperman again dominated the assists category with 58 and also had a team-high 27 digs; Dominek trailed with 26 and Ritko with 23.
The Cougars are back in action tomorrow for another two games, this time at Oberlin College. They face Haverford College at 1 PM followed by the hosting Yeowomen at 3.
