PITTSBURGH, Pa. - September 1, 2022 - Chatham University Women's Volleyball hosted the neighboring La Roche University Red Hawks this evening in a non-conference, season-opening matchup. The Cougars would take care of the 'Hawks in short order, completing the game at 3-0.

Set one saw the Cougars down 3-0 early, which was quickly corrected thanks to junior Amelia Bogovich. First-year Alyssa Leskovac would chime in with her first collegiate point, followed by juniors Paige Bogozi and Delaney O'Shea. These crucial points were supplemented by first-year Abigail Willott and sophomore Jessica Taney.

In the second, Chatham got off to a hot start with kills from O'Shea, Bogovich, Willott, Leskovac, and senior captain Shaelah Pepperman. The Red Hawks fell too far behind too quickly, ultimately losing the set by nine points.

The Cougars and Red Hawks battled back and forth in the final set, going point for point until the home team broke the spell at the 20-point mark. Delaney O'Shea would break up double points from Abigail Willott and Meghan Dominek to end the set. Dominek's final two points were both service aces.

Amelia Bogovich and Abigail Willott led the Cougars in kills with 11 and 10 respectively. Newcomers Delaney O'Shea and Alyssa Leskovac trailed with seven each.

Meghan Dominek had a team-leading 20 digs and four service aces, trailed by Paige Bogozi with three and Bogovich with two.

Chatham Volleyball seeks to continue their dominant play tomorrow, September 2nd as them embark on the River Hawk Classic at Susquehanna College. They first face the River Hawks before taking on UMass Boston and SUNY Brockport on Saturday.
