Gangloff Repeats as 1650-Freestyle Champion, Chatham Places Fifth

GROVE CITY, Pa. – February 19, 2022 – Sophomore Karl Gangloff once again claimed gold in his second long-distance event of the PAC Championships, highlighting a fifth-place finish for the Chatham University men's swimming team.

Gangloff's win began the final session of the PAC Championships as he thoroughly dominated the field with a 16:40.53 final time in the 30-lap race. He was the only Cougar in the longest race of the Championships. Gangloff's efforts led to him to being named the PAC's MVP for men's swimming just one year after being named the Rookie of the Year.

First-year Hunter Holcomb also had a top-10 finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, good for tenth with a 2:27.46 final time. Holcomb and Gangloff combined with junior Nathan Kerchensky and first-year Hayden Acker for a sixth-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle at 3:50.23.
