LATROBE, Pa. - December 7, 2022 - Chatham Men's Basketball defeated Saint Vincent 84-68 on the road Wednesday night. After earning their first road win of the year, the team is now 4-4 overall and 4-1 in conference.
Junior guard
Simon Boyer was the team's leading scorer, putting up 23 points on 7-13 shooting with three three-pointers. Boyer also pulled down nine rebounds, which tied for the team lead with graduate guard
Nick Bomar. Sophomore guard
Isaiah Smith, Chatham's leading three-point shooter on the season, scored 18 points with four triples. Senior guard
Marcos Cintron scored 17 points on 8-12 shooting and added a team-leading six assists.
Boyer came out of the gate hot, scoring 12 of the team's first 15 points. This spurred the Cougars offense, which took a double-digit lead just before halftime. Chatham kept that lead at double-digits for almost the entire second half and led by as many as 17.
Despite committing just nine turnovers, the Bearcats offense couldn't get into a rhythm as they made just three three-pointers in the contest. The Cougars buried nine threes and shot 54.0% (34-63) from the field, their highest mark of the season. Chatham won the rebounding battle 40-34.
Men's Basketball will be back in action Saturday afternoon at home against Mount Aloysius.
