PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - December 3, 2022 - Chatham Women's Squash faced Haverford this afternoon in their sole match of the weekend at Penn. The match would go set-for-set until Haverford ultimately pulled ahead, leaving the Cougars with a 5-4 loss.
Chatham's top four would all defeat their respective opponents, three of which were sweeps.
Basmala Syed Aref beat her #1 opponent swiftly in three sets, allowing 18 points against.
Vasundhra Vasanthan also recorded a sweep, allowing a mere 10 points throughout.
Valentina Della Maddalena tallied the final sweep in the fourth spot, while
Sofia Pinto came from behind to win three straight sets by scores of 11-3, 11-2, and 11-1.
Ta'Niya-Marie Nored would record the final set victory for the Cougars with an 11-8 victory in the fifth spot.
The Cougars return to Pittsburgh for their senior night celebration at 6 PM against Saint Lawrence on December 9th.
