PITTSBURGH, Pa. - December 3, 2022 - Women's Hockey hosted Manhattanville again tonight in game two of their regular season series.
Manhattanville would run up two goals in the first period, firing off 20 shots at first-year netminder Sam Brophy.
Chatham would disrupt Manhattanville's momentum early in the second, however. Junior Ally Nolan would collect her own rebound and shovel it home just 18 seconds into the period. Classmate Lauren Carmody would build off of Nolan's momentum less than two minutes later, tying the game after another net-front scrum and finishing sophomore Rainey Jessup's rebound.
Unfortunately, the Valiants would capitalize on a power-play opportunity past the halfway point of the game, and the Cougars were unable to recover.
Brophy would finish her third career game with 53 saves. At the other end, Manhattanville's Gerardi would stop 23 of 25.
Graduate defenseman Ashley Marchant, senior center Brooke Almond, and junior Ally Nolan led the Cougars with four shots apiece.
Juniors Cameron Carmody and Abi Fuzaylov both won a team-high ten draws.
Almond and first-year Kayla Clark both had a team-leading three blocks.
The Cougars head to New England College for their final series of 2022 next weekend for non-conference matchups against the Pilgrims.
