Richards Announces Doug Caputo as Assistant Coach

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - December 2, 2022 - On Friday, Chatham Men's Basketball head coach David Richards announced the hiring of assistant men's basketball coach Doug Caputo.

"We're extremely excited to welcome Doug to Chatham," Richards shared. "Doug had a very successful playing career at Division III John Carroll and an impressive 2-year stint as an assistant coach at Westminster College. I was impressed with Doug's vision and energy, and I believe he will make a smooth transition in joining our staff."

Along with his coaching experience within the PAC, Caputo brings valuable experience from other areas as well. Caputo served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Cardinal Mooney High School and was an assistant coach at Cleveland Cavaliers Academy for two years.

Caputo played four years at John Carroll University. The Youngstown, Ohio native was a three-time All-OAC selection at forward. In his junior year, Caputo was a member of the 2015-16 OAC Championship Team. Caputo was also a part of two John Carroll teams that made appearances in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament.

Caputo graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from John Carroll in 2017.
