ROCHESTER, NY - November 4, 2022 - Chatham Women's Hockey opened their UCHC season tonight against reigning champion Nazareth.
Nazareth would manage just one goal in the first before scoring early in the second. Junior Cameron Carmody would find the back of the net just two minutes later on the power-play, thanks to a good setup from classmate Ally Nolan and senior Brooke Almond.
Nolan was next on the board just over halfway through the period, skating a pass from graduate student Ashley Marchant the length of the ice before tucking it in the Nazareth goaltender's five hole. The period would end at two-all.
In the third, however, Nazareth fought back offensively, scoring two more even-strength goals before ending with a power-play goal.
Carmody, in addition to scoring the Cougars' first goal of the night, also won a team-high 10 face-offs.
Junior goaltender Lilly Rogers made 37 saves in net, including 14 in the first period.
The Cougars are back in action against the Golden Flyers tomorrow at 3 PM to conclude their conference-opening series.
