PITTSBURGH, Pa. - November 19, 2022 - Chatham Women's Hockey finished their series with King's College today with an 8-1 win.
The scoring frenzy started just after the halfway point of the first period in which Ally Nolan would strike first on the penalty kill with help from Allison Corser-James. Kaylynn Savoy would net the game-winner shortly after in even-strength play, with Brooke Almond earning the sole assist. To cap off the first period, Corser-James would score her first unassisted goal.
On an early power play in the second, Lauren Carmody would score from a play set up by Savoy and Abi Fuzaylov. Corser-James would follow up a minute and a half later to extend the lead to five before Rainey Jessup closed out the period with a goal of her own, assisted by Almond and Kayla Clark
Nolan scored early in the third, assisted by Corser-James, who then scored her third goal late in the period to complete her hat trick. Kayla Clark would earn her second assist of the day, and Ashley Marchant would be credited with her first.
Clark, Corser-James, and Almond all led the assists category with two apiece. Corser-James would finish with a game-high five points. Almond and Nolan both ended with a +6 rating. Abi Fuzaylov won a team-high nine face-offs in the circle, followed by Almond with eight.
First-year Sam Brophy recorded a win in her first collegiate start, making 12 stops in the effort.
The Cougars now stand at 3-2-1 in conference and 3-4-1 overall. Their next contest is slated for Saturday, November 26th at Adrian.
