MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - November 13, 2022 - Chatham Men's Basketball dropped the second of two games at the Penn State Harrisburg Tip-Off Classic Sunday afternoon against Baruch 85-76. With the loss, the Cougars suffer their first 0-2 start to a season since 2015-16, the first year of the program.
Junior guard
Simon Boyer led the game with 20 points on 7-15 shooting. He also led the team with seven rebounds. Sophomore guard
Isaiah Smith, who played all 40 minutes, was the other Cougar in double figures with 18 points. Smith was 4-7 from three-point range and added four assists. Graduate guard
Nick Bomar led the Cougars with five assists.
Baruch shot 60% from the floor in the first half and took a 10 point lead into the break. Chatham started the second half with a 12-2 run to tie the game at 40, but Baruch countered with a run of its own and led by as many as 11. However, the Cougars caught fire from deep and narrowed the Baruch lead to just two with 3:35, but could not complete the rally.
The Bearcats won the rebound battle 49-32 but committed 16 turnovers to just six for the Cougars.
Men's Basketball will play its home opener on Wednesday when PAC play starts against Waynesburg.
