MEADVILLE, Pa. - October 25, 2022 - Chatham Volleyball traveled to Allegheny College tonight for their penultimate conference matchup against the 7-0 Gators. The Cougars would prove their strength with a quick 25-19 win in the first set before powering through to 25-17 and 26-24 set wins in the third and fourth, completing their 3-1 victory.
The first set began with kills from junior Delaney O'Shea and first-year Alyssa Leskovac, which were supplemented by senior Shaelah Pepperman, junior Amelia Bogovich, and first-year Sierra Ricci to extend their lead. The offense continued to dominate, adding several kills from sophomore Jessica Taney as the visiting Cougars cruised to a six-point victory.
Despite Allegheny tying the match in the second, the Cougars would bounce back for their biggest set-victory margin in the third. The Cougars were back with a vengeance, racking up 22 points before Allegheny could even touch 13. Headlining the set's offense were Leskovac, Bogovich, O'Shea, and Taney once more.
The Gators took a considerable lead in the fourth set, but luckily the Cougars were up for the challenge. After Allegheny climbed to a 20-13 lead off of six straight points, Delaney O'Shea would break the streak, followed by Alyssa Leskovac, Shaelah Pepperman, Amelia Bogovich, and junior Baileigh Horan. First-year Julianne Chenot would register a crucial service ace to allow Bogovich's kill for the 25th point, and Taney and Bogovich would tag team a block for their 26th and final point of the night.
Leskovac and Bogovich had productive evenings, producing 18 and 16 kills respectively. Taney and O'Shea would both record seven apiece. Shaelah Pepperman played her usual role, tallying a game-high 45 assists at setter.
Horan and Taney would combine for nine blocks, while Pepperman, Leskovac, Bogovich, and O'Shea each had two. Defensively, junior Meghan Dominek protected the floor with a team-high 35 digs.
