Women's Hockey Back in Win Column at Alvernia

READING, Pa. - January 28, 2022 - Chatham University Women's Hockey traveled to Alvernia University tonight for a UCHC matchup. The Cougars would pull out a 4-1 victory on the road, improving their record to 8-7 in conference.

The scoring started late in the first when senior Fiona Danahy found the back of the net on a Cougar power play after capitalizing on a play started by junior Brooke Almond

Sophomore Kaylynn Savoy was up next to start the second period, thanks to heads-up plays from classmates Ally Nolan and Abi Fuzaylov. Alvernia would strike back with their lone goal of the game in the second on the power play.

The Cougars were back with an offensive dominance in the third, demonstrated by goals from Almond and Savoy once more with assists to Nolan and Lauren Carmody respectively.

In the circle, sophomore Cameron Carmody won a game-high 22 face-offs, Almond trailing with 10 out of 12.

In goal, first-year Lindsey Batz earned her second career win with 18 saves.

The Cougars are back in action tomorrow at Alvernia once again. Puck drop is set for 2 PM.
