UTICA, NY - January 14, 2021 - Women's Hockey traveled to Utica College earlier today for a UCHC matchup. Despite claiming the first goal of the game, the Cougars would ultimately fall to the Pioneers.
Chatham had a hot start, scoring within the first four minutes of the contest thanks to sophomore Allison Corser-James, who capitalized on a play from classmate Cameron Carmody. Unfortunately, the Pioneers would follow with a successful attempt of their own minutes later.
In the second, Utica started with a power play goal, but Chatham recovered merely 40 seconds later to tie the game with a goal from sophomore Kaylynn Savoy and an assist from classmate Ally Nolan. Utica would find the back of the net once more before the clock ran out for the period.
Utica broke open the scoring in the third, piling on five goals, including two short-handed.
In goal, sophomore Lilly Rogers made 41 saves.
In the circle, Cameron Carmody won 11 of Chatham's 22 face-off wins. She also had a game-high five shots. The Cougars are back for round two with Utica tomorrow at 1 PM.
