YORK, Pa. – September 25, 2021 – The Chatham women's soccer team found itself playing from behind early in the contest and could not catch up, falling to York College 4-0 on the road. The loss puts Chatham's record at 2-3-1 overall.
The Cougars defense fell behind after a flurry of York shots led to three goals in 27 minutes. The first came 6:21 into the contest on the first official York shot on goal. The second and third goals came at 20:51 and 27:02 respectively. The Cougars did not get a shot on goal off until the 39
th minute. The second half was more of the same although just one goal was allowed by the Cougar defense, coming with 5:22 to play.
For the match, Chatham was outshot 19-3 including 9-3 on goal with the Cougars taking a pair of corner kicks while the Spartans attempted five. Senior
Morgan Anderson attempted two thirds of the shots while the other was attempted by junior
Emily Harvey. Sophomore
Tyler Colburn made 5 saves in net.
With non-conference play wrapped up, the Cougars begin PAC play on Tuesday, September 28 with a home matchup against Bethany College. Kickoff is set for 7:00 at UPMC Graham Field.
