Cougars Cruise Past Thiel in 7-1 Victory

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - April 18, 2021 - Women's Soccer secured their sixth conference victory of the season today with their 4-0 win over Thiel College.

The Cougars came out strong, scoring four goals in the first half alone. Junior Paxton Steffy was the first to strike, scoring off of a feed from graduate student Kyla Kelley.

Sophomore Greta Mort would net Chatham's second goal of the afternoon before Kyla Kelley scored the third and fourth goals, assisted by sophomore Emily Harvey and junior Morgan Anderson respectively.

Thiel would tally the first goal of the second half fifteen minutes in. Morgan Anderson replied with a goal of her own thanks to an upfield move by junior Kere O'Donnell.

Kere O'Donnell was the next Cougar to get on the scoreboard, working in tandem again with Anderson who was credited with the assist. O'Donnell secured yet another goal for the Cougars just five minutes later to make the score 7-1.

In goal, senior Ashley Bergman and sophomore Tyler Colburn each played a half, making a combined seven saves.

Chatham ended the game with 23 shots on goal, six of which came from Kelley.

The Cougars will round out their regular season play on Saturday, April 24th at Bethany College.
