Women’s Soccer Picks Up Fifth Conference Win Against Franciscan

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - April 14, 2021 - Chatham Women's Soccer reclaimed their win status this evening with a 5-2 victory over PAC opponent Franciscan University.

The Barons helped the Cougars to a one-goal lead with an own goal at the 19-minute mark. Chatham added to the lead just 16 minutes later with a goal by junior Morgan Anderson, assisted by a feed from classmate Paxton Steffy.

Franciscan began the second half with a goal to cut the deficit to one, but Chatham's Greta Mort was quick to expand the lead once again.

Senior Genevieve Zeswitz had her season-best showing with two goals less than five minutes apart, the first being assisted by Kyla Kelley and the second going unassisted.

Franciscan scored once more to cap off the game, resulting in a 5-2 final. The game finished with a season-high 23 fouls, ten from Franciscan and 13 from Chatham.

Kyla Kelley led the Cougars' offense with four shots on goal, followed by Zeswitz and Anderson with three each.
