Cougars Roll to 3-0 in Conference Play

WAYNESBURG, Pa. – April 10, 2021 – The Chatham women's lacrosse team won its third PAC game in as many contests with a 19-5 road triumph at Waynesburg. The win advances Chatham's record to 5-1.

After giving up a goal in the first 52 seconds of play, Chatham went on to score the next 12, including all 11 of its first-half goals. The Cougars put the mercy rule in affect in the final three seconds of the half, going up 11-1.

The second half was also in favor of the Cougars, although not as lopsided. With the game in hand, Chatham added eight goals in the latter 30 minutes of play to take a lead as large as 16 with four minutes to play.

Shots went heavily in favor of Chatham at 50-11, including 34-7 on goal. The Cougars forced 27 Waynesburg turnovers, were successful on seven of 10 clears, won 15 draw controls and scooped 40 ground balls, only the second time in program history that Chatham had 40 or more ground balls in a game.

Leading the way was sophomore Phallon Kilduff, who scored six goals on all six of her shots on goal. Graduate Bria Braddock led in points with seven, scoring five times with two assists. Braddock set the program record with 15 ground balls in the match. Juniors Brielle Rapsas and Rachel Borucki scored three and two times, respectively. Also scoring goals were graduates Rachel Belles and Anna Prendergast along with first-year Darryn Sleeman. Junior Grace Pavlovich added an assist in her first game with the program this season.

Chatham faces a tough test on Wednesday, April 14 when it heads to Washington & Jefferson College for a 7 p.m. start time with the Presidents.
