Game Recap: Women's Hockey |

Rogers Stops 38 in Loss to Nazareth

ROCHESTER, NY - March 6, 2021 - Chatham Women's Hockey traveled to Rochester, New York this evening to finish their regular season series against the Nazareth College Golden Flyers. Despite a tied first period, the Cougars ultimately fell by three.

After a shaky start the day prior, the Cougars staved off the Golden Flyers throughout the first period. Chatham recorded three shots opposed to Nazareth's 11 in the period, but both Lilly Rogers and Nazareth's McKinley Hoff remained flawless.

Chatham saw its best-shooting period in the second, firing 16 shots at Hoff, who stopped all 16. At the other end, Rogers stopped 13 of 15 shots, keeping the Cougars in the game and allowing them to focus more on the offensive front.

Chatham's third period was marked by two penalties and 15 shots against, resulting in a third goal for Nazareth. The Cougars got eight shots off in the period, but Hoff did not allow any leeway late in the game.

Linemates Sydney Collins and Allison Corser-James led the team's shooting, tallying six shots apiece. Sophomore defenseman Isabella Siren registered a season-high four shots.

First-year Ariel Garbin was active on defense, blocking five shots to complement Dena Akers' four.

The Cougars now stand at 3-3 in conference play. They host Lebanon Valley on March 12 at 7 PM before finishing the series at Hershey Park Arena on the 13th.
