Cougars Fall to Soaring Eagles on Home Ice

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - March 26, 2021 - Chatham hosted Elmira this evening in their final home game of the regular season. After an even first period, Elmira pulled ahead and kept Chatham scoreless the rest of the night.

Elmira wasted no time generating offense, with Jordan Gonzalez rifling a wrist-shot past Chatham net minder Ricardo Gonzalez just one minute into the game.

Chatham answered back within the same period while killing a penalty thanks to Aidan Girduckis, who capitalized on passes from Chris Lutz and Kenneth Gill.

With the score tied heading into the second, Elmira struck early once again, this time on the power play. They managed one more goal that period before netting two bonuses in the third.

Gonzalez was busy in net, making 33 stops including 18 in the third period alone.

In the circle, senior Chris Lutz won a team-high ten draws, followed by classmate Cory King with nine.

Chatham's 18 shots were distributed across the board, with six players tallying two shots and six more registering one.

The Cougars head to Wilkes University tomorrow for their final regular-season matchup against the Colonels. Puck drop is at 7 PM.
