WAYNESBURG, Pa. - March 20, 2021 - Chatham Women's Soccer earned their second 4-0 victory of the season, this time over Waynesburg.
The Cougars got to work early, starting with a goal from newcomer Emily Harvey with an assist credited to sophomore forward Maggie Toomey.
Waynesburg would take a defensive stance for the rest of the half, keeping the score at 1-0. The one-goal lead did not last long thanks to Olivia Wood, who put Chatham even further ahead just ten minutes into the second half.
Despite the lead in goals and shots, the Cougars kept flexing their offensive muscle. Cassidy Martin scored at just over the 72-minute mark, and Emily Harvey scored her second goal of the game just 18 seconds later off of a pass from Kyla Kelley.
The Cougars finished the game with four goals and 15 shots on goal. They had six corner kicks throughout the game and only four fouls compared to the Yellow Jackets' nine.
Wood led the game in shots with four, followed by five teammates with two each. Sophomore goalkeeper Tyler Colburn had a two-save shutout.
The Cougars' next game is Saturday, March 27th at Washington and Jefferson College. Until then, Chatham stands at 2-0 in conference play.
