Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Earns First PAC Win Over Saint Vincent

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - March 13, 2021 - Women's Soccer opened their season today for their first game at UPMC Graham Field. The Cougars broke in the field well, beating Saint Vincent 4-0.

Sophomore Cassidy Martin wasted no time in her first start of the season, scoring a goal off of a feed from Morgan Anderson just five minutes into the game.

Saint Vincent would gain some ground after getting down early, but could not generate any offense of their own. Instead, junior Morgan Anderson would dominate the game, scoring a natural hat trick with goals just seven and 15 minutes apart from each other. Anderson's second goal would earn graduate student Kyla Kelley her first assist of the season.

Anderson led the charge with 10 shots on goal, followed by Martin with four. Of the other 10 shots on goal for the Cougars, first-year Aliyah Hunter, sophomore Olivia Wood, and graduate student Breanna Oltman had two apiece, and Kelley registered one.

Goalkeepers Ashley Bergman and Tyler Colburn each played a half, making one and two saves respectively to preserve the shutout.

The Cougars take the field once again on Saturday, March 20th as they travel to Waynesburg.
