Corser-James Nets Five, Breaks Program Records in 6-1 Win

HERSHEY, Pa. - March 13, 2021 - Chatham completed the sweep of Lebanon Valley tonight after beating the Dutchwomen 6-1. First-year Allison Corser-James scored five of Chatham's six goals.

The game started even with Lebanon Valley fighting for their defense. It would take until the second period for Chatham to strike, and they did so on the penalty kill.

Allison Corser-James took advantage of open ice early in the second, taking it end to end for a short-handed goal. Not even a full minute later, she did the same thing, this time with an assist from sophomore Dena Akers.

Corser-James did not stop there, completing her hat trick on the powerplay off of cycling passes from unit mates Sydney Collins and Lauren Carmody.

With the strength finally even, she netted her fourth goal of the night with help from Brooke Almond, making the score 4-0 going into the third.

The Cougars took a penalty in the first half of the third period, which was enough motivation for Corser-James to score a short-handed hat trick. She was unassisted in the endeavor, achieving her 11th goal in just eight games. With this goal, Corser-James had broken the all-time record for goals in a single game (5) and single- game and -season short-handed goals (3).

To finish off the game, first-year Cameron Carmody took advantage of feeds from classmates Roxee Hughes and Abi Fuzaylov, tucking one away with just two minutes to spare.

With the sweep over Lebanon Valley, the Cougars now stand tall at 5-3 in conference play. They look to carry their momentum into their next series against Alvernia.
