ROCHESTER, NY - March 12, 2021 - Chatham's Men's Hockey team traveled to face UCHC rival Nazareth College this afternoon. Despite getting down in the first period, the Cougars fought back, scoring three consecutive goals for the comeback win.

The first period saw 14 shots from the Cougars, but with no luck. Instead, the Golden Flyers snuck one past junior goaltender Ricardo Gonzalez on a power play, leaving Chatham trailing by one going into the second period.

Chatham came out flying in the second, starting with an equalizing goal from sophomore forward Lucas Rothe, assisted by junior linemate Tristan Simm. Senior captain Michael Thamert kept the Cougars rolling off of a play from Niko Moulakelis, taking the lead. Rothe notched his second of the night soon after, assisted by Moulakelis once again and first-year defenseman Chris Dusek.

The Golden Flyers tried to make a comeback with an early third period goal, but that was all they accomplished. Gonzalez made 13 saves to maintain the lead, allowing Carson Grainer to score his first collegiate goal and double Nazareth's offensive total.

Gonzalez ended the game with 32 saves. Tristan Simm tallied a game-high six shots. In the circle, senior Chris Lutz won a game-high nine face-offs, followed by Junior Michael Lamison with eight. Sophomore Alex Ouellet made three of four Cougar blocks on the defensive end.

The Cougars face the Golden Flyers once again tomorrow, March 13th, on home ice at 4 PM.
