Cougars Dealt Tough Loss by Wolverines

PITTSBURGH, Pa.February 5, 2021 – Chatham Women's Swimming and Diving hosted the Grove City College Wolverines this evening in their second Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) competition and sole home meet. Grove City accumulated 120 points compared to Chatham's 87 across 14 events.
 
Mallory Marzolf had yet another strong showing for the Cougars. She claimed first place in the 100 Backstroke, finishing with an impressive 1:00.54. Marzolf next took on the Freestyle races, earning first in the 50 Yard (25.30) and a close second place finish in the 100 (54.85).
 
First-year Abigail Glasspool earned one of the top finishes for the day, taking second in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:36.67. Junior Charity Fannie secured the two-spot in the 1000 Freestyle with a time of 12:03.49.
 
The Cougars took home two second-place relay finishes, beginning with the 200 Medley and ending with the 200 Freestyle. The relay squad of Rachel Lloyd, Faith Fannie, Danika Evans, and Carlee Shreve completed the Medley race with a time of 2:11.19 before Abigail Glasspool, Charity Fannie, Mallory Marzolf, and Shreve once again earned a finishing time of 1:50.20 in the Freestyle.
 
Other notable performances include second place finishes in the 500 Freestyle by Carlee Shreve (5:50.85), the 200 Backstroke by Rachel Lloyd (2:27.95) and the 100 Breaststroke by Jennifer Elder (1:31.38).
 
The Cougars look to bounce back when they take on Saint Vincent in Latrobe, Pa. on Friday, February 12th at 6 PM.
