OBERLIN, Ohio - December 15, 2021 - Women's Basketball traveled to Oberlin College this evening for a non conference matchup. The Cougars would suffer their first loss of the season by a 57-40 final.
Oberlin took an early lead in the first. Chatham would not score until three minutes in, thanks to two good free throws from graduate student Maddy Grennes. Graduate Julianna Skowron would add to the scoring shortly after with two straight jumpers, followed by a three from first-year Emily Durkee.
In the second, Skowron continued her scoring spree, supplemented by Grennes, junior Sierra McClain, and first-year Aurielle Brunner.
The Cougars would add ten more points in the third to take them up to 27, seeing new scoring from junior Riley D'Angelo, senior Aliyah Labriola, and graduate Brittani Smith.
Chatham would put up 13 more points in the fourth, but the Yeowomen maintained their lead and increased it to 55.
Graduates Julianna Skowron and Brittani Smith both contributed 12 points. Skowron and classmate Maddy Grennes would each grab a game-high seven rebounds. Junior Riley D'Angelo had a team-high three assists.
With the loss, the Cougars now stand at 7-1 overall, 2-0 in conference. They head to Geneva on Saturday, December 18th for their third PAC contest of the season.
