Cougars Make It Rain Three’s at Mount Aloysius

CRESSON, Pa. – November 27, 2021 – The Chatham men's basketball team's three-point shooting was on point in Saturday's 81-61 win at Mount Aloysius, burying 16 triples on the road. Chatham's record improves to 5-0.

The Cougars jumped out early and never looked back, opening the game on an 11-0 run, and never trailing at any point throughout the contest. Junior Marcos Cintron was the show stealer in the first half, scoring 16 of his 18 points in the first 20 minutes of action. Chatham jumped out to a 42-24 halftime lead.

The second half was slightly more competitive, but the outcome was never in doubt. Chatham's lead increased to as many as 29 points late in the second half. The Cougars had 14 players touch the floor and 11 players score at least one point.

As mentioned, the three-point shooting was a huge key in the blowout win. Chatham shot 16-31 from deep (.516%). Cintron and senior Nick Fiumara connected on four threes to lead the way while senior Malik Potter scored 15 points on a hat trick of threes. Senior post player Ben Pollock ate up 10 rebounds, nine of them defensively, and swiped four blocks. Chatham had 28 defensive rebounds and forced 22 turnovers.

The Cougars re-enter conference play on Wednesday, December 1 at Saint Vincent with a 7:30 tip.
