PITTSBURGH, Pa. – November 23, 2021 – In what turned out to be a mostly defensive game, Chatham was able to hold off Juniata for its fourth straight win of the 2021-22 season, a 64-59 triumph.
Chatham got out to a very strong start, opening up a 21-6 lead 11:45 into the game before the Eagles had to burn a pair of timeouts. Unfortunately, the Cougars could not add much to the scoring, just two points in the final 8:15, but still holding onto a 23-16 halftime lead.
The second half saw both teams scoring in bunches. It was the Cougars' best second half performance offensively with 41 points scored in the final 20 minutes. While the Cougars never relinquished the lead, Juniata was able to cut the Chatham lead to as little as three late in the game. A pair of free throws with six seconds left secured the win.
Chatham either tied with or held an advantage over Juniata in every statistical category, including 39-37 on rebounds, 20-15 on assists, 19-17 on bench points, 14-11 on points off turnovers and 10-6 on second chance opportunities.

Malik Potter tallied his third consecutive 20+ point performance, scoring 20 on the dot with 12 rebounds, six assists and a block on a game-high 38 minutes played. 14 of those points came in the second half. Junior

Brandon Lavernia and senior
Nick Fiumara each had eight points. The latter of the three swiped a team-best three steals.
The Cougars look to keep the ball bouncing their way on Saturday, November 27 with a road matchup at Mount Aloysius beginning at 3:00 pm.
