WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - November 20, 2021 - Chatham Women's hockey traveled to King's College this afternoon for their first of two UCHC matchups this weekend. Despite a close game, the Cougars surmounted the Monarchs by a final score of 3-1.
Sophomore
Ally Nolan would take the reins just four minutes into the first period, converting a pass from classmate
Lauryn Hawley to find the back of the net. King's would find some defensive strength, however, as the Cougars were unable to score for the remainder of the period.
In the second, King's would get a lucky offensive break. Chatham was quick to respond with sophomore
Cameron Carmody's goal just four minutes later. Classmate
Allison Corser-James and first-year
Trinity Antonio wer credited with the assists.
Coming out of a tied second period, the Cougars shut the Monarchs down offensively and score an insurance goal of their own thanks to Hawley, from junior
Brooke Almond.
In the defensive end, sophomore
Roxee Hughes had a team high two blocks. Senior
Katy Reed made six saves in net.
The Cougars take on the Monarchs again tomorrow in Wilkes-Barre at 2 PM.
