Chlorine Cougars Wrap Up Oberlin Invitational

OBERLIN, Ohio – November 20, 2021 – The Chatham swimming teams wrapped up the Oberlin Invitational in the same positions they finished day two, with the women slotting at sixth place with 680.5 points and the men at eighth with 270.
 
Senior Charity Fannie opened the day with an upper echelon finish in the 1650-yard freestyle, completing the long-distance event at 20:24.12, good for eighth place. First-year Ali Cowan stayed at second place in the one-meter diving but gave first place a run for her money with 375 total points.
 
First-year Maddy Cisco placed in the A pool of the 100-yard freestyle, wrapping up with a sixth-place finish of 54.70. Two Cougars also placed in the top seven in the 200-yard butterfly, with junior Carlee Shreve placing fifth at 2:28.28 and sophomore Abigail Glasspool wrapping up at seventh with a 2:30.46 time.
 
Sophomore Karl Gangloff had another stellar outing in the 1650-yard freestyle, earning a bronze finish of 17:23.09.
 
Chatham is on a near-two-month hiatus and will return to the pool on Friday, January 14 at Juniata with the meet beginning at 6:00 pm.
