Swim and Dive Finish PAC Championship with a Bang

GROVE CITY, PA - It all came down to the last night as the Cougars had one last chance to add more points to their totals before the end og the PAC Championship and their 2025-26 season. 

Before today's meet, the PAC released the 25-26 Swimming & Diving Sportsmanship Teams. Representing the Cougars in this award was sophomore Hannah Uhrinek and junior Caleb Trainum!

The women's team finished in 6th place at the PAC Championships with 291 total points. 

Uhrinek once again earned a handful of points for the Cougars as she finished 3rd in the 200 Yard Butterfly. Olivia Mucha would also earn some big points as she finished 5th in the 200 Yard Backstroke. Casper Stevens would also find herself earning points in the 200 Yard Backstroke as she finished 13th. Alayna Kercher would find herself on the podium after a 5th place finish in the 1650 Yard Freestyle. Siera Schmitt would earn a 9th place finish in the 200 Yard Breaststroke, and the final points would come from Carlie McClurg finishing 12th and Hannah Kane 16th in the 100 Yard Freestyle. The 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team with Uhrinek, Kercher, Schmitt, and Kane would do their thing as always and place 5th.

The men's team also finished te PAC Championships in 6th place with a total of 213 points.

Maxwell Rollins would kick things off in the points department with a 6th place finish in the 100 Yard Freestyle. Trainum would then follow behind with an 8th place finish in the 200 Yard Butterfly. Brady Gardner would find himself with a 13th place finish in the 1650 Yard Freestyle while John Mitchell would finish seconds late and place 15th. Ethan Hopkins would round out the individual points earned with a 14th place finish in the 200 Yard Breaststroke. The 400 Yard Freestyle Relay with Kenneth McFerron, Trainum, Mitchell, and Maxwell would find themselves on the podium once again with a 6th place finish.

Trainum also finished the night and the season with an individual accomplishment. He set a new school record in the 200 Yard Fly with a time of 2:03.61 beating the past record which was held by both Mark Ebey (2018) and Trainum himself (2024) with a time of 2:11.32.
