CLEVELAND, Ohio – November 12, 2021 – The Chatham women's soccer team played its first ever NCAA tournament game Friday afternoon in Cleveland, but the Cougars fell to the hosting Case Western Reserve University Spartans by a 5-0 final.
The Cougars held their ground defensively in the first 34 minutes of action before Case Western broke through at 34:55. The Spartans added one more right before half, scoring in the 44
th minute to maintain a 2-0 lead at the break. The Cougars were held without a shot in the first half.
The Spartans struck again in the beginning of the second half, this time within the first five minutes. The Cougars got off a few good looks at the goalkeeper in the second half but ultimately could not crack the scoreboard. Case added a pair of late second half goals to put the game away.
The Cougars were outshot 25-5 for the match and 11-3 on goal. Junior
Emily Harvey was the only starter to record a shot on goal, with the others laced by first-year
Bianca Brumsted and junior

Tyler Colburn played all but four minutes of the game and made five saves. First-year
Katie Krecek saw her first action of the season in net in the first half.
Chatham's season ends at 12-6-1 overall and 7-2 in the PAC, but the program looks forward to the 2022 season as the reigning back-to-back PAC champions.
