Game Recap: Women's Hockey |

Cougars Dominate Knights for First UCHC Win

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - November 12, 2021 - Chatham University Women's Hockey hosted Arcadia University in a UCHC matchup this evening at Pittsburgh Ice Arena. Despite a quick equalizer from Arcadia in the first, Chatham poured on the goals for a 5-1 final.

Sophomore Allison Corser-James was the first Cougar to strike, doing so just five minutes into the game thanks to a textbook breakout from junior Dena Akers to first-year Trinity Antonio.

Arcadia would score just a minute and 40 seconds later off of a rebound, but the Cougars were quick to rebound themselves. Sophomore Abi Fuzaylov would find the back of the net for the second time this season, with assists to her linemates senior Fiona Danahy and Junior Brooke Almond. Corser-James stepped up for one more first period goal with help from classmate Cameron Carmody.

Before Carmody would get on the board herself, sophomore Ally Nolan scored her first collegiate goal, capitalizing off of a Knights turnover. Carmody's turn came soon after on the power play for goal number five, the assist giving Corser-James her third point of the day.

The third period would end scoreless, but sophomore Goaltender Lilly Rogers made sure of this, coming up with 16 saves in the third period alone.

The Cougars host the Knights again tomorrow at 2 PM as they look to complete the sweep.
